GA4: event-based measurement

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google’s event-based analytics platform. Instead of relying heavily on pageviews and sessions, GA4 models user behaviour through events (page_view, purchase, form_submit, etc.) and supports cross-platform measurement (web + app).

What GA4 changes

  • More flexible event tracking, but more responsibility to define a good event taxonomy.
